Jacques Van Coppenolle (1978-1915) The bridge and the rue des Pelletiers in La Ferté-sous-Jouarre Oil on canvas Signed lower left and located on a label stuck on the back 46 x 55 cm Jacques Van Coppenolle (born in 1878) renowned Belgian painter, he worked at the Montigny-sur-Loing earthenware factory. Like his father, the painter Edmond van Coppenolle (1846-1914) he particularly excelled there with his decorations of farmyard scenes of impressionist landscapes of the Loing valley and Seine et Marne. Mobilized during the Great War, he was killed in 1915 in Vauquois (Meuse).
