Paul SORMANI (Attrib) Transition style furniture, 19th century period "Exceptional TRANSITION style furniture in rectangular shape in rosewood, amaranth and violet wood veneer with marquetry decoration of sinuous shaped rosettes. Superb bronze descents with rams' heads in the 4 corners and handles in gilded and chiseled bronze on each side in the shape of garlands of foliage. It opens on the front with two drawers, and a drawer on the side. The scalloped top is in rosewood veneer marquetry, with decoration of rosettes in stained wood veneer, surrounded by a gilded bronze astragal. It rests on slightly arched legs, covered with a rich ornamentation of gilded and chiseled bronzes, and fitted with bronze hooves on its original casters. This is the OEBEN model and LELEU reproduced in the 19th Century. This Model is undoubtedly attributable to Paul SORMANI. It measures 60 cm in Length, 48 cm in Depth and 74 cm in Height. It is in Superb condition.
