Earthenware plaque representing a Provençal farmhouse with cypresses and other flowering trees.
It is signed by Jean Ferdinand Pourchier, who from 1921 ran the decoration workshop of the factory of Saint-Jean du Désert near Marseille, active until 1959.
It was part of the tradition of the first eponymous factory, which shone between 1678 and 1764, renowned for the golden yellow of its master earthenware maker François Rizzo, which no one has ever been able to reproduce.
