Louis XVI period sideboard, bearing the RVLC stamp and Jurande punch At support height, rectangular in shape, the uprights with cut sides highlighted with trompe-l'oeil fluting, the white marble top surrounded by an openwork copper gallery. Marquetry called à la Reine in light wood on an amaranth background, on the front and on the sides, decorated with a trellis of trompe l'oeil diamonds in which quatrefoils are placed, the whole in frames of gilded bronze moldings. It opens with two leaves topped with two curtains revealing five drawers. It rests on tapered legs fitted with bronze clogs. It measures 121 CM in length, 43 CM in depth and 97 Cm in height. Usual restoration. The initials on this piece of furniture are those of Roger Van der Cruse, known as Lacroix (1728-1799), who was made a Master in 1755. Provenance Purchased from the Miche Meyer gallery in February 1981 Related work: A secretary with doors and curtains by Roger Van der Cruse, kept at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, somewhat resembles the silhouette of our piece of furniture,
