Object description :

"Jacques Martin Ferrières (1893-1972) The Anchovy Fishermen Of Collioure"
A picturesque and moving subject of these anchovy fishermen discussing and folding their net. A realistic drawing and a light touch made from a first draft give this work the spontaneous and lively charm of a sketch taken on the spot. The work is listed in the catalogue of the exhibition "Jacques Martin Ferrières Intimité et horizons" page 70 number 83 where it is located in Collioure, titled "les passeurs de filets", and dated 1927. In good condition, it measures 81 cm by 60 cm and 63.5 cm by 84.5 cm in its simple natural wood frame. A certificate of authenticity will be issued with this work full of charm and subtlety.
