Eugène Henri Cauchois, 1850-1911, French painter of flowers, fruits, genre scenes, landscapes, seascapes and still lifes. He was a student of Cabanel and Duboc at the Académie de Paris at the Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts. He participated in the Paris Salon from 1874 where he won numerous awards. At the end of his life, he devoted himself to decorative painting, painting, among other things, flower panels for a school in the 7th arrondissement of Paris. He largely treated his compositions with large impasto touches. Works in the Museums of Louviers, Perpignan and Rouen. Artist listed in Bénézit (with example of signature) and Schurr (Dictionary of Little Masters), Artprice, Artnet, Mayer, Akoun, etc.
This mahogany panel is in very good condition.
