Peasant woman in an interior. The ceramics on the wall in the staircase resemble those that can be found in Portugal. A well, a door under the stairs, the suspended cage, the young woman who seems lost in her dreams, all this gives an original composition. The canvas bears the signature of Marius Michel twice, once at the bottom left and another time at the top left. Marius Michel is a painter born in Sète in 1853 and died in 1910. He is well referenced and was awarded several medals and is featured in several museums. The canvas is in good condition apart from a small lack near the signature and a small restored tear. Dimensions of the canvas alone, 42.5 cm x 32 cm. It is presented in a later frame of 51 cm x 43 cm in good condition.
