"Easel Photo Frame With Ivory Inserts Dated 1881"
The structure of this very unique and rare frame is in gilded metal inserted for the photo by spring system. Its decoration consists of carved ivory pieces, two paw feet first and then a dominant macaroon in a rocaille style with central shield still intact that you can therefore have engraved with your initials if you want. On its back, remains of a glued label marked "Muster" see photo. The metal parts on the back are stamped with various inscriptions: "Patented January 18, 1881", "Scheurich Patent" as well as "DR Patent", the latter indicates that it is a model of German origin. Its protective glass (11x17 cm) is slightly chamfered.
