Matt and shiny gilding in excellent condition burnished with agate stone. This porcelain, of great quality, calls upon the ancestral know-how of the great Chinese manufacturers. This is how the Sèvres and Dagoty factories were born in France in order to compete with the whiteness of the porcelains of the Middle Empire.
Empire period. Circa 1810-1815.
The painted decorations recall the attributes of the allegory of Music and the Arts. Indeed, we observe plant friezes interspersed with torches surmounting acorns with matt and shiny gilding. Between each torch are butterflies in flight. Blue cartouches, which are found in each acorn, reveal the attributes of music and the arts, namely crossed trumpets, a parchment on a painting palette, a helmet with arrows, a muse horn on a score and attributes of the harvest.
