Rare and precious pair of genuflex cherubs in carved and gilded wood. The artifacts were executed with the thoroughness of sculpture quality by a skilled carver, who in addition to having loaded the devout composition with the necessary pathos by stubbornly modeling the positions of the praying angels; masterfully reported certain details such as the faces, the thick curls of the hair and the draping of the tunics.
The range of these angels is that of the Papal State in the 17th century, in the midst of the Baroque period.
The objects have no obvious restorations and retain the original gilding. Unfortunately, over time, they almost completely lost their sculpted wings.
The measures of the angels are 26 cm long x 24 cm high.
