Truncated cone-shaped pewter PITCHER with flared base, spout depicting a bearded man's head, flat-topped lid and palmette thumb. It is finely engraved with a large armorial motif accompanied by the patronymic mention: HANS GEORG SCHALCH.
Height: 22 cm.
SHAFFHOUSE (?) (SHAFFAHAUSEN) or nearby region, Mid-17th century


In very good condition and beautiful old semi-dark marbled patina.
Some slight impacts are reported.
Hans Georg Schalch, born in 1609 and died in 1686, in Schaffhausen. He was successively tutor, priest of Buch, priest and dean of Schaffhausen and Münster, and finally antistès. The coat of arms is plausibly that of the Schalch family
