Circular kobako in kin nashiji lacquer on a black background, decorated with phoenixes among leaves in gold lacquer; inlays of aogai and gold powder on a black background and silver lacquer.
The interior in nashiji lacquer. Note some minor wear on the lid and some missing mother-of-pearl on the edge of the lid.
