Alfenide is also called white metal, it is an alloy composed of 59% copper, 30% zinc, 10% nickel and 1% iron. It is then covered with silver by electroplating. The Alfénide brand was used by Christofle until the last filing on October 24, 1978. Not having been renewed, this brand expired in 1988. The Alfénide silvering guarantee hallmark features a goat's head in a diamond inscribed in a square.
