Elegant pair of armchairs with frames richly carved with neoclassical motifs such as interlacing friezes, ribboned rushes, rosettes, fluting and beautiful delicately carved pomegranates, placed on acanthus leaf bases. Cabriolet-shaped, these 2 beautiful seats are Parisian, they were made during the Louis XVI period, in the 1780s, built entirely in walnut, they are gilded, the gilding shows many wears and repairs. The seat and back frames are removable, these are period frames, The rear upholstery is in very good condition, it is covered with a beautiful green velvet. Structurally, these two armchairs are in good condition and quite usable, they are very high quality seats, we can compare the work of these two cabriolets to the work of a seat carpenter like Jean-Baptiste Lelarge.
