"Chinese Porcelain Dish, Overdecorated In Europe. 18th Century."
Interesting octagonal dish in hard porcelain from China. This dish made in China in the 18th century originally had only a simple decoration of a few plants painted in cobalt blue underglaze. It was overdecorated, probably in Europe, perhaps in Holland during the 18th century. If there are many Chinese porcelains thus overdecorated, it is rare to find one with such an interesting decoration of dragons and so largely enameled with these beautiful apple green and blue enamels. Below is painted in red a mark trying to imitate Chinese characters. No crack, a few small chips around the edge as can be seen in the photos. Diameter: 22cm
