The Alchemists Workshop, 17th Century School of DAVID TENIERS THE YOUNGER (1610-1690) A large 17th century Dutch interior scene depicting an alchemist’s workshop, oil on canvas. An interior scene of excellent quality and condition depicting an alchemist in his workshop with assistants mixing compounds in the background. Typical of Tenier’s interior scenes of the period. Generally good condition, professionally relined with minor signs of excessive cleaning. Housed in an antique deep section gilt frame with leaf corners. Provenance: British private collection Chalk markings from early Sothebys/Phillips inventories Dimensions: 35” x 30” framed approximately
