"First Half Of The 19th Century Pair Of Vases In Pompeian Style"
Elegant pair of amphora vases in bronze, featuring a square base in green marble and refined gilded details. The vases are two handed and adorned with gilded decorations inspired by Pompeian and floral motifs. The handles are embellished with elaborate swan necks on either side, while on the neck of the vase, there is a classical profile face, surrounded by delicate vegetal scrolls. The decoration on the bodies of the vases is identical, yet varied on each side: on one side, a scene of an offering is depicted, with a woman presenting a basket in front of a herm, while on the other side, a man stands in front of a column, surrounded by fruits and a cup, holding a pastoral staff. These vases are in good condition and can add a touch of elegance and class to any environment. In neoclassical style, they are attributed to French manufacture from the first half of the 19th century.
