The bench may be small, but it is extremely decorative - a pleasure to look at.
Straight-lined construction with square feet. The backrest features floral carvings that end in two flanking columns with figures. Turned tenons run vertically downwards from the floral cross-bracing of the backrest to the seat.
The surface has been completely cleaned and imperfections repaired, but we have taken care to ensure that the charm of the object is not lost. A wax varnish was applied, the wood color is not equally dark everywhere, but also has slightly lighter areas, which underlines the liveliness of the object.
Originally there was only a weave on the seat.
This has been cleaned and the connections to the back have been completely renewed in order to achieve absolute seating stability.
A loose cushion filled with natural kapok and decorated with buttons was made from a fabric by Pierre Frey in an Asian look, which perfectly matches the look of the bench.
