Antonio Mancini was an Italian painter born in 1852 and died in 1930, linked to the Macchiaioli movement. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples with Domenico Morelli, Stanislao Lista and Filippo Palizzi. His art is linked to the Macchiaioli movement and verism. During a stay in France he worked for Adolph Goupil then Hendrik Mesdag. He met Degas and Manet during this stay, and became the best friend of John Singer Sargent. High quality of execution.
