According to Riesener: Muséal Louis XVI style secretary in precious wood marquetry circa 1890-1900 This elegantly shaped piece of furniture is decorated all around with an inlay of leafy latticework. It is topped with a recessed marble top with an openwork gilded brass gallery. It opens on the front with 1 flap decorated with a large ribboned medallion in gilded bronze representing an allegory of Water, with putti playing with a Dolphin, in the manner of Clodion. The interior and refined theater with a leather writing surface. Two lower leaves. Opening onto a music file. The canted uprights are topped with gilded bronze mounts tied with ribbons. The whole rests on feet decorated with bronze rosettes separated by an overhanging apron with bronze outline. The frame bears a hot-stamped number. H119 x 97 x 48 cm
