Rare and superb pair of spelter sculptures representing a couple of Turkish torchbearers in court dress.
Straight out of the fashion of turceries from the middle of the 18th century, this couple is magnificent, look carefully at the details for spelter sculptures, the finesse brought to the chiseling of the faces, the quality of the ceremonial clothing!
They are magnificent and very rich.
Probably formerly mounted with electricity.
Note an old restoration on the left arm of the man that is not very visible and a dent on the torch of the woman that is not very visible.

A rarity and a superb quality of execution in the details.
