Object description :

"Borne Clock With Horse And Dog In Gilt Bronze And Brown Patina From The Restoration Period, 19th Century"
Restoration period bronze clock with brown and gold patina depicting a horse playing with a small dog.

Very beautiful mercury gilding, we note the alternation of patinas which gives a beautiful balance to the whole as well as the work brought to the details of the horse's head and mane, the saddle cover, the small dog as well as the ground on which they are having fun.

The scene is very lively, bringing a touch of originality which stands out from the usual subjects, often frozen. Round dial in gilded bronze with Roman numerals decorated on both sides with interlacing foliage and heart rays surmounted by a small cornice decorated with friezes of water leaves and interlacing with a base underlined by a frieze of volutes also in gilded bronze.

The clock rests on a rectangular base in gilded bronze decorated with a lintel of stylized water leaves.

This clock has been completely cleaned and serviced by our clockmaker, it is in perfect working order. Wire movement. Restoration period clock (1814 – 1830)
