"Pierre Gaillardot (1910-2002) - Oil On Canvas - Deauville"
Pierre Gaillardot (1910-2002) - Oil on canvas Oil on canvas depicting a port city, probably Deauville Signed lower right Pierre Gaillardot is a French figurative painter of the new school of Paris, with Burgundian origins. He depicted vineyards and horse races, having often lived and worked in Deauville. In a rather expressionist style, his oil paintings differed from his watercolors, which were very characteristic of his time. His stylized representation of horse races perfectly conveys the rapid movement of a group of riders. Visible at the Galerie Courcelles Antiquités, at 97 rue de Courcelles, in the 17th arrondissement of Paris.
