"Commode Médaillier "
Magnificent and large parquet chest of drawers mounted in gilded bronze , after the "Commode Médaillier" by Antoine Gaudreaux.This important chest of drawers is based on a priceless original that was provided by Antoine Gaudreaux, cabinetmaker to the king , in 1739 for the interior cabinet of Louis XV, and used mounts by the famous sculptor Jacques Caffiéri.
The iconography is derived from the Greco-Roman world, full of symbolism relating to the altar of Dionysus.

This spectacular chest of drawers is in good condition (unrestored, in its original condition).
