It takes the form of certain Greek ceramics with a double ear handle decorated with threads ending with acanthus leaves. It has a guilloche frieze on the top of the lid and a frieze of rushes around the edge. The zoomorphic grip of the zoomorphic lid represents a pair of pigeons with a quiver and arrows at their feet, all symbolizing love. On the pedestal we find a frieze of heart stripes as decoration. Beautiful chiseling work. This decoration perfectly demonstrates the use of the neoclassical style which was at its peak at the end of the 18th century. Presence of hallmarks: 1st rooster hallmark, goldsmith's hallmark: JFM vine stock and boar hallmark 1789-1800. Silver pn: 757 gr. Slight deformations on the foot and inside the lid, visible pitting on the lid. From the late 18th early 19th century. Good general condition.
