"Rare Reduction Model Of An Empire Screen, Early 19th Century"
Rare and very interesting scale model of a screen with a mobile frame in carved solid mahogany, blackened wood and decorated with gilded stucco decoration. This work can be associated with a masterpiece of cabinetmaking, however it seems to us that it is a model, or mock-up before the realization at scale 1. The work carried out is very neat whether at the level of the sculptures or the stucco decorations, the whole takes up a luxurious model of fireplace screen as could propose Jacob-Desmalter (1803-1813), the scale is 1/3. The frame slides perfectly, we note that there is a rebate allowing to place a tapestry there, we can also place a mirror there to divert the object. Beautiful collector's item dating from the beginning of the 19th century, which presents some wear and old small restorations at the level of the gilded stucco.
