"Painting Paris Montmartre The Sacred Heart Painting Signed Louis Peyrat (1911-1999)"
Oil on canvas 46 cm x 38 cm sold with its frame 56 cm x 48 cm, signed lower left Louis Peyrat and representing a view of Montmartre with the Sacré Coeur in the background. Sold with an invoice-certificate. Perfect condition. Louis Peyrat (1911-1999): French painter born on November 30, 1911 in Gorceix in Saint Germain Les Belles, near Limoges (87). He did his apprenticeship in carpentry, in parallel, he studied by correspondence at the universal school, received his competition, he worked in an architect's office in Limoges. For his leisure, he attended the School of Decorative Arts in Limoges, then from 1934 he devoted himself to painting. In 1948 he exhibited at the Magadoux gallery in Limoges, then in Royan and in many other galleries. From 1958, he painted views of Paris, and particularly of Montmartre, which would make him successful. He gained access to the very famous Cercle Volney and Parisian galleries such as the Roussard gallery. His paintings would be exhibited alongside those of Degas, Derain, Domergue, Buffet, Braque, Picasso, Foujita, Utrillo, Laurencin etc... until 1969, the year in which he stopped painting following complications caused by a traffic accident suffered a few years earlier (1963). His success would allow him to live comfortably until his death on March 13, 1999 at Martoulet in Saint-Germain-Les-Belles (87).
