"Mate Bowl, 19th Century Silver Frame, And An Antique Bombilla "
Interesting mate cup made from a dried and engraved squash, mounted in a silver device that encloses it and serves as a base and a grip. Given the patina of the object, it was designed in the 19th century. A bombilla (to suck up the mate infusion and put the sugar in the small removable strainer) is attached, later but in silver (stamped 800) and vermeil. The mount of the bowl is particularly ornate, decorated with a small animal. It is a nice testimony to ancient Argentine folk art, linked to a practice that is still current. Length of the bombilla: 20 cm
