"Chinese Porcelain Vase. Cobalt Blue Decor. Tcheng-hoa Brand, Kangxi Period, End Of 17th Century"
This baluster-shaped vase in hard porcelain is decorated in cobalt blue oxide underglaze with Chinese characters in a landscape. The enamel is a beautiful bright blue typical of the best productions of the Kangxi reign, the result of careful work and perfect firing. Below is written the mark of the emperor Tcheng-Hoa which is apocryphal. The lid has disappeared. Good condition, no cracks, no chips, no restorations. Made in the kilns of Jingdezhen at the end of the 17th century or at the very beginning of the 18th century. From memory, the legend tells the story of an Emperor coming to recruit a gifted peasant, for Uservir to advise. A deformation of the base is to be noted (see photo). Height 22cm Diameter 20cm.
