"Denis Rivière Study Of The Sky Honfleur "
Pastel sky study by Denis Rivière. The pastel is signed lower right and framed in a modern frame. The pastel alone measures 25x39 cm. Henri Rivière was born in Honfleur in 1945 and began painting at the age of 14. Under the influence of his illustrious elder, Eugène Boudin, he specialized in the treatment of skies. Thus a commission for a sky for a ceiling of the Elysée or his project to paint a sky per day during the year 1999 to mark the passage to the year 2000 are two of his most ambitious projects. The 356 pastels will be exhibited at the Honfleur museum and will then be the subject of a donation to it.
