"The Madonna Of The Finger"
THIS EXTRAORDINARY PAINTING WAS ATTRIBUTED TO ONORIO MARINARI BY SANDRO BELLESI. THE WORK CERTAINLY COMES FROM THE WORKSHOP OF THE GREAT TUSCAN MASTER CARLO DOLCI OF WHOM HONORIO WAS THE MOST IMPORTANT PUPIL BECAUSE HIS SIGNATURE IS WELL VISIBLE ON THE ORIGINAL FRAME FROM THE 1600s. THE PAINTING, AN OIL ON CANVAS 33X27 CM WITH AN ANCIENT GOLD LEAF FRAME, AS INDICATED BY BELLESI IN HIS EXPERTIZE "IT IS AN ANCIENT AND ORIGINAL REVISION OF THE VENERATED MARIAN IMAGE CREATED BY CARLO DOLCI, COMMONLY KNOWN AS MADONNA DEL DITO". THE PAINTING IS IN GOOD CONDITION AND ON THE BACK OF THE CANVAS IT HAS THE NOBLE ORIGIN FROM AN IMPORTANT COLLECTION.
