Early 20th century China late Qing period Han woman's tunic in embroidered silk dating from the end of the Qing period (1644-1912). Scarlet red silk damask background drawing the auspicious signs of Buddhism. Long tunic crossed by five brass buttons and piped black satin borders forming curved designs. Complete tunic with its blue satin sleeves finely embroidered with silk thread and applied with gold curled threads, forming a decoration of birds, flowers and swastika cross friezes. Large silver brocaded ribbon (minor damage at the shoulders). Fully lined with ecru cotton. The blue satin has minor damage at the folds and hems, no other defects to report. Good general structural condition. Dimensions: Presented on a size 36 France mannequin. Measured flat: height 83 cm, shoulder width 141 cm, sleeve length 83 cm, sleeve height 38 cm, tunic base 87 cm.
