"Angkor Wat Statue - Cambodia"
There are about ten known avatars of Vishnu. He is one of the three main gods of Hinduism. Here he is dressed in a "sam-pot" (traditional loincloth) with a very particular drape whose belt is decorated with flowers, his pronounced navel makes the lotus spring forth in tradition. His characteristic is that he has 4 arms, here broken. This sculpture is characteristic of the Angkor Wat style and can be dated to the 11th or 12th century. It is of a classical elegance.
