"Pair Of Sculpted Angels - France Circa 1700"
Pair of altar angels, arranged on either side of a tabernacle. They do not have any traces of polychromy, so they have their original color and must have been on an altarpiece also in unpainted natural wood. Arranged kneeling on bases representing a stylized wave shape, these generously sized sculptures are ready to take their place in a chapel or on a chest of drawers or console without being too imposing. The wings are removable. Some visible accidents, but old. Their style at the junction of the 17th and 18th centuries
