DELORME FAIZELOT Adrien Adrien Delorme - cabinetmaker - mastery obtained on June 22, 1748: A very good cabinetmaker of the 18th century, Adrien Delorme became famous for his marquetry, lacquers and varnishes in the taste of the Far East. Eldest son of François Delorme (1691-1768) – established on rue Tiquetonne and specializing in Chinese lacquer or “Chinese-style” varnish furniture – Adrien Delorme came from a family of craftsmen whose original name was Faizelot. Established on rue du Temple, he worked there as a furniture manufacturer and dealer. In August 1768, he was elected juror of the community of joiners and cabinetmakers. The Almanacs of the time present him as “one of the most skilled and renowned for marquetry work”. His two brothers were also cabinetmakers: the first Jean-Louis Delorme (master in 1763) who specialized in the restoration and resale of Boulle furniture and the second Alexis (master in 1772) who devoted himself to the furniture trade on rue Saint-Denis.
