Old bronze image of the historical Buddha, Burma (Myanmar), Mandalay period, around 1880. Shakyamuni's gaze is realistic, the eyes are made with cowries (black-spotted shells), which accentuate the expression of his benevolent and meditative gaze. On the headband that underlines his ushnisha still partially gilded, vestiges of glass beads. Beautiful medal patina with shades of verdigris.
