Ivory Coast, Yaouré people, circa 1950, superb dance mask in hardwood with a dark brown patina from the company "Dyé" symbolizing the "Yu" or spiritual power. It represents a human face with a collar surmounted by two totemic birds. The carving work is remarkable. The facial features are finely drawn and it gives off a deep feeling of interiority. Height 37.5 cm (53 cm with the base). The scale indicator in the last photograph is a small model of a lighter from a brand known to all.
