Object description :

"Louis XV Period Mahogany And Rosewood Cylinder Desk – Part 1, 18th Century"
This cylinder desk is an exquisite example of Louis XV furniture renowned for its elegance and refinement. It opens with a cylinder veneered with a quatrefoil in satin mahogany with large lemonwood fillets and a mitered rosewood frame. It simultaneously opens a dark red leather shelf, decorated with gilded vignettes and motifs adding a touch of luxury. The four interior drawers in mahogany and light wood, fitted with lentil knobs, as well as three horizontal niches, offer practical and aesthetic storage solutions. The scalloped apron has a large drawer with mascarons and pull rings. The presence of the original lock, accompanied by its entry and key, underlines the authenticity and historical value of this piece of furniture. The top of this piece of furniture has a slightly concave part adding softness to the lines. The sides are worked in the same spirit with a rosewood frame and central mahogany veneer. The whole rests on four curved legs fitted with brass sabots. This cylinder desk is not a simple functional and well-sized piece of furniture, it is a collector's item that testifies to the craftsmanship of cabinetmakers and the aesthetics of its time. ******** Period: 1st Part 18th century Excellent condition Stamped varnish finish Delivery possible in France and internationally Dimensions: Width: 95 cm Depth: 53 cm Height: 97 cm Ref.300424.3
