"Wrought Iron Convict Shackles - Feet And Hands - Judge's Hammer - Curiosity"
Beautiful set of wrought iron convict shackles. There are two foot shackles as well as a hand shackle (quite rare). The collector who sold them to me also had a wooden judge's hammer that he displayed with the shackles. The chains have been varnished. Each foot shackle is 70cm long. The hand shackle (handcuff) is 45cm long. The judge's hammer is 35cm. 19th century work (see earlier)
