Louis XV style gilt bronze fireplace screen. Animated decoration with acanthus leaves, curves and counter curves and staples. Central part decorated with a swinging putto. Original gilding very bright but having suffered the ravages of fire and smoke therefore altered on many parts. This object is signed on the rear feet of the entwined CC, signature of the bronzier Charles Casier. Napoleon III period circa 1860.
