"John White (1851-1933) Scottish/devon: "the Evening Mail" Watercolour And Gouache Size 29 X 47 Cm"
John White (1851-1933) Scottish/Devon:"The Evening Mail" Watercolour and gouache Size 29 X 47 Cm John White was originally from Edinburgh but soon settled in Devon after a short stay in Australia. He produced many works depicting the South West, such as "Fish Sellers in Clovelly" and "Branscombe Beach, East Devon", so it is plausible that this is also a view of Cornwall or Devon. In 1886 he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters. He married his wife Rosetta two years later.
