Bardiès: Pair Of Large Breakfast, Art Nouveau Chocolate Cups In Solid Silver & Vermeil 1900

Magnificent pair of large Art Nouveau cups, in solid silver.

The cups and saucers have an engraved decoration of fuchsia friezes left in reserve. This is a work done by hand and not mechanical! Each flower is unique with its variations specific to manual work.

The inside of the cups is in vermeil (worn and very light).

The cups and saucers are hallmarked:
. Minerva 1st title before 1973 for 950/°° silver
. Goldsmith's hallmark: GB with a fleur-de-lys for Gaston Bardiès, active from 1897 to 1914

Superb pair of cups, remarkable for their magnificent hand-engraved decoration as well as their impressive weight and dimensions.
