The spatulas of the spoons have strong threads, the lower part is rectangular with a half circle. The same pattern is found at the end of the stem and on the back of the spoon.
The double thread that runs along the handle is very raised and makes the spoons very pleasant to hold.
The sugar tongs have the same pattern and the ends are in lion's paw.
Each piece is hallmarked:
. Minerva 1st title before 1973
. Goldsmith's hallmark: PQ with an antique oar for Queillé.
The Queillé family is a great family of goldsmiths and this hallmark was used by Eugène François Queillé, active from 1847 to 1880 and his son Elvire, active from 1874 to 1895.
The geometric shapes, the strong line and the sobriety of the set tend to date this service from the end of the 19th century when the shapes were refined in reaction to Art Nouveau and announced the beginnings of Art Deco a decade later.
Very beautiful set for tea, sober and elegant, with the quality specific to the great goldsmith houses of the end of the 19th century.
