"After Louis Majorelle: Nancy School Table, Art Nouveau Period (438cm)"
According to Louis Majorelle: Museum table from the Nancy school in walnut and ash, Art Nouveau period, circa 1900 (440cm open) with an atypical and generously animated shape inspired by nature in the spirit of the creations of Hector Guimard (Paris metro stations). The great particularity of the Art Nouveau style, which was born in France in 1889, is that the decorations composed of curves and arabesques are no longer added but are an integral part of the sculpture. The exuberance of the shapes, decorations and stylized sculptures earned the nickname "L'art nouille" at this time. This magnificent table is available in a similar model visible at the Musée de l'École de Nancy. It opens in the center to receive extensions (1 provided). It rests on large feet with delicately sculpted motifs. H76x176x140 (open 438cm)
