The enamel dial signed Roque à Paris for Joseph-Leonard Roque , a famous watchmaker and mechanic , received Master-Watchmaker in 1770 in Paris.
Clockmaker to the King during the second half of the 18th century, he worked with the best engineers, bronze chasers and goldsmiths of his time, such as Claude Siméon, Paffement (engineer of Rou at the Louvre), Caffieri, Thomas Germain, ....................................... and on major projects such as the extraordinary clock of the creation of the world kept at Versailles.
Enameled dial in three colors on a white background, openworked with a star motif revealing the striking movement (skeleton movement). Fleur-de-lys hour and minute hands. Indication of the dates, days of the week, their symbols and seconds by three blue steel hands.
Index in Arabic and Roman numerals.
The mechanism suspended from a finely chiseled and mercury-gilded bronze mount, with patterns of pearls of laurel tori, fruit falls and scrolls.
Base in molded white Carrara marble resting on four topie feet.

Condition : beautiful state of conservation (in its own juice) hair and small chips to the enamel of the dial, the mechanism needs a good cleaning.
