"The Stop At The Inn, 18th Century Dutch Drawing"
The stop at the inn, a frequent subject in Dutch art, is a pen and wash drawing, formerly restored, the bottom of the original drawing has been destroyed and restored. The border between the original paper and the restoration can be seen on the drawing. Perhaps monogrammed on the keystone of the door behind the rider. There is a lot of picturesqueness in this drawing (the 2 horses tied in single file, the horse skull on the thatch of the shed, etc.). Laminated by the margins only on a strong cardboard.
