"Pair Of Officer's Pistols Mle 1833, 2nd Type"

Octagonal "ribbon" barrels, slightly blundered at the muzzle, bronzed gray. Caliber 18 mm with 48 "hair" grooves. They are dated "1863" on the right side and engraved "MI" for Manufacture Impériale. They bear the F and L punches of the controllers and revisers on the left side.
Locks, signed "Mre Imple de Châtellerault". Percussion hammer. One is punched P in a shield, the other M starred.
Walnut stocks with short barrels, finely checkered and punched. The ring caps unscrew to provide access to a housing for storing a spare funnel and pod. Steel ramrod with brass head.
These weapons are in excellent condition.
