"China - Musician Rider - Tang Dynasty - Tl"
Beautiful Chinese musician horseman playing the drum in terracotta with engobe and polychromies from the Tang Dynasty. He is wearing a hat, dressed in a short-sleeved tunic, baggy pants tucked into his boots. The drum is attached to the saddle, the right arm raised and the left at waist level. Originally, both hands held sticks to strike the drum. The horse is standing on a terrace with its head slightly tilted to the left. The mane is short and the tail is braided. Beautiful preservation of the cold polychromy and the musician's face. A thermoluminescence test accompanies the object. Origin: China Dimensions: Height: 34 cm; Length: 30 cm. Period: Tang Dynasty (618-906). Provenance: Former Belgian collection. Condition: Very good condition.
