"Paul Albert Laurens. Bouquet Of Roses In A Delft Earthenware."
Magnificent floral composition representing a bouquet of roses in a Delft earthenware vase. The touch is delicate, the colors fresh and refined. It is an oil on panel in excellent condition that does not need to be cleaned. The painting is signed lower right P. Albert Laurens. He is a well-known artist, born in Paris in 1870 and died in Toulon in 1934. He is well referenced in the Benézit and in the Schurr (small masters of painting). Many museums preserve his works. Quebec, Bourg en Bresse, Dijon, Fourquevaux, Laval, the Academy of Sciences, the National Library of France, (portrait of André Gide), Toulouse, the Orsay Museum, (portrait of Jean Paul Laurens) and another portrait of André Gide) and Chatenay-Malabry. Annotations on the reverse mention a name and address, presumably the owner of the work as well as the name of the painter. The painting alone measures 35 cm x 26.5 cm. It is presented in a beautiful 19th century key frame in gilded wood in very good condition measuring 45 cm x 37 cm.
