Pogliaghi - "study From Drape"

Pogliaghi Ludovico (1857-1950) "draped study for the Porta Maggiore Duomo of Milan" Circa 1895 Charcoal on paper the sheet size: 32.5 x 45 cm Inscribed lower right S33 (inventory?). Not Signed handwritten inscription on the Pogliaghi marie-louise. The back of the work presents two academic studies: one hand and a face and a sketch outline of Romanesque geometric style door. Work of high quality. Old frame size 58 x 49 cm confirmed Italian artist Ludovico Pogliaghi notably worked in Santa Maria Maggiore (Rome), San Lorenzo (Genoa), between the Cathedral of Pisa and the Santo in Padua. His masterpiece remains the monumental door of the Duomo Cathedral in Milan, performed between 1894-1906, to which the study refers. A museum is dedicated to him in Varese (Italy)
